Semanario 7

And we're done. With this one, I've officially finished my guest intervention of daily headers for a week for the Designers United fb group.

This is Fun Sunday, so I was supposed to have total freedom and fun with this one. Since I had already had total freedom and fun with the others, I just crammed a whole bunch of things I love in here. We've got a blanket, a dalmatian, a locket, loads of hidden easter eggs for a BD project I've got on the works, Catbug, a purple tree, a yellow umbrella, maccaroons, a new watercolor piece of paper with brushes and white ink, photos of friends, a music box, and of course my beloved and adored Pan's Labyrinth.

To anyone familiar with my blog/work/tweets/general blabbery, you aren't surprised about that last one, aren't you?

And well, the remains of the party from the day before. But they can clean that up later: right now it's dawn: that fleeting moment where all light is soft and gentle and pink for a few instants. And everyone knows I'm a sucker for lightning :)

Semanario 6

It's the weekend!!! And I think it's quite clear which one it is for Saturday... This one was loads, loads of fun - not only do I want that Jurassic Park poster, but I had never done so many characters so quickly - and that's just my dream lightning!! :D

Couldn't hide much stuff in here, for obvious reasons. But tomorrow will be the last one... can't believe it! D: This week went by so so quickly! n.n

It's friday!!

And to tell the truth, I rather loved the way this one came out in terms of lightning... :D
Here we've got not only a rather watery fountain (did you guys notice yesterday the guy trying to fix it yesterday?) and kids enjoying the heck out of it, but for Free Font Friday (ahahaha - lame pun) we've got letters everywhere, an Avatar Aang poster, Perry the Platypus, Rise of the Guardians, How to Train Your Dragon, Pushing Daisies and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. And the duck with the Beatles wig from the Minnesota Project.

See you guys tomorrow - we're almost through!

Semanario 4

And we carry on! Here's the late afternoon, Vector and Branding Thursday header for this week. Because of the theme I carried on and used the page's logo as a logo for EVERYTHING - at least, anything where I could put the logo at. Dalí and Tarantino are present (I effing love Inglorious Basterds!), along with the house of Up, a light-saber (Obi-Wan's, with whom I have a certain weakness n.n), a turntable - gosh, I wish I had one of those- and my piano favorites: Dario Marianelli, Fabrizio Paterlini and my adored Chopin :D

On their part, the characters are almost done with their project - bet they're as exhausted as I am, but I reckon they look way better than I do right now... for Pete's sake, she's got a mint dress. *WANTS*

Semanario 3

It's already Wednesday!!!
Well, not here. PST says it's 19 hours (I'm still working/writing at home). But still - we'll see Django today, so gotta post it now.

It's noon in our apartment! This time it's Web Wednesday - a bit hard, since I didn't want to add all of the repetitive poses of characters checking their laptops. So I added tablets and smart phones - while at Paris I've grown 'fond' of people touristing and taking pictures with tablets... There's sarcasm in that sentence.

Anyway - I really loved this poster :D And my twitter fandom shows, doesn't it? Also pictured my fondness for old phones, my adoration for Google Doodles, Muse's 2nd Law, a Spiderman Comic; Dario Marianelli's "Love Letters" (that's gotta be one of my favorite soundtracks ever!) and a small Hedwig, since today's Harry Potter's birthday too...

Well, at the UK it is!

Semanario 2

We carry on! Here's Tuesday: Portfolio & Tutorial. It's easy to see where the Tutorials get into play in this image: only here is where I started thinking about a more concrete, clear sequential story to tell between headers. Also, I tried to make this lightning more morning like - kind of like 9:00 am sort of thing, where the other one is 6:00 am-ish. Had loads of fun learning how to draw paper cranes and how to draw paper cranes tutorials.

To note here: Jane Austen, Pacific Rim (HECK YEAH! - more on that later), coffee, Un Monstre à Paris and Paris Je t'aime.

I'm having a blast with these.

Semanario 1

A friend of mine from school proposed to me a rather interesting experiment. He asked me to do a series of headers for a local facebook group he administers: there's a different header every day, and they have different themes arranged for each of the days.

Since each artist invited to do the headers can do whatever on earth he wants with this, I've decided to do a series of illustrations with the same main characters, the same environment, and a different feeling each day. I'll get into details as I post them, but for today, we've got "Hate Mondays".

To note on this image: the tiny homage to Michel Gondry's "The Science of Sleep", the How I Met Your Mother english phone booth, and an even tinier Erasure's "Love to Hate You". And a clear allusion to my inability to cook.

Well, to be fair, I can cook. I just don't enjoy it. CEREAL FTW!
